The idea of this web site is to be an online web calculator to help with some simple, but otherwise time consuming design tasks. So the aim of the tools is to make your design work easier. There will be more calculation tools added to this site over time. So please provide your feedback.
At this stage the use of the site is free of charge.
Some words about my background: I have worked as a researcher and consultant on energy and building matters for the past 15 years. I have an MSc in Physics from Heidelberg and Oldenburg Universities in Germany, and have an Energy Management Diploma from the Central Institute of Technology. Previously I worked at BRANZ and conducted cost/benefit analysis for the BIA for the revision of Clause H1 of the NZ Building Code. I am the author of the ALF3.1 software, which calculates the Building Performance Index (BPI), one of the four compliance methods with Clause H1 NZBC. Now I work at Right House, a new company offering comprehensive and integrated home energy solutions to home owners and builders.
